When family comes to town, there’s no better excuse to go out for a special dinner and knowing that our special guest is a big protein lover, I knew exactly where to go: Elite Restaurant on Main Street in Kingsville.

Elite is known for its classic fine-dining feel, white linens, attentive service, and dishes that always arrive beautifully plated. It’s one of those local hot spots that feels just right for celebrating something (or someone) special.

We kicked things off with a few appetizers to share:

Bruschetta – A classic done right. Crispy toasted crostini topped with juicy diced tomatoes, fresh herbs, garlic, and a sprinkle of shredded parmesan. Light, fresh, and a perfect opener.

Fried Calamari – This one’s always a crowd-pleaser. The calamari was scored and lightly coated in seasoned cornflour batter, fried to a golden crisp. Tender inside, crunchy outside — exactly how you want it.

Each of us found something that fit our taste (and mood) perfectly — and by the end of the night, every plate was clean.

Grilled Rib-Eye – Our special guest’s pick, and according to him, one of the best cuts he’s had in a long time. A 20oz center-cut rib-steak, perfectly seasoned and grilled, with incredible marbling that made every bite rich and juicy.

Filet Oscar – My order for the night was a medium rare tender beef filet topped with crab and finished in a creamy béarnaise sauce. The kind of indulgent, melt-in-your-mouth dish that makes you pause between bites just to appreciate it.

Lamb Lollipops – My dad’s favourite (and yes, he’s ordered them before). Perfectly seasoned and grilled lamb chops that balance that satisfying char with tender, flavorful meat.

Lemon Veal – My mom’s go-to. Thin veal cutlets seared and paired with sautéed mushrooms, scallions, and a buttery lemon jus. She didn’t share a bite, which says it all.

Broiled Lobster Tail – My son went straight for the seafood, no surprise there! A generous 12oz lobster tail, marinated in house garlic butter and broiled to perfection. It came with a side of melted butter, because of course.

Stuffed Chicken – My grandma’s pick (and she ate every last bite). Boneless chicken stuffed with asparagus and fontina cheese, wrapped in pancetta, and topped with a rich garlic cream sauce. Comforting, flavorful, and beautifully presented.

If you’re craving a night out filled with flavour, great service, and beautifully cooked proteins, this Kingsville spot delivers every time.
