A Friends Staycation To Remember at Modern Lux Oasis

Sometimes the best getaways don’t require a passport, or even a long drive. Earlier this fall, a few friends and I packed our bags for the ultimate staycation right here in our own backyard. Just minutes from home, we checked into the beautiful Modern Lux Oasis, a luxurious lakefront Airbnb that instantly made us feel like we were on vacation. 

The Perfect Local Escape  Located along the shores of Lake Erie, Modern Lux Oasis is a four-bedroom modern retreat that combines comfort, luxury, and incredible views. The property sits high overlooking the water, creating a peaceful atmosphere that makes you want to slow down and breathe it all in. The house features a heated saltwater pool (open May through November) and an 8-person hot tub, making it the perfect year-round destination for relaxation.

We spent hours lounging by the pool, soaking in the hot tub, and watching the sunset over the lake. These moments made it hard to believe we were still so close to home. 

Luxury Meets Comfort

Inside, the home is just as impressive. The open-concept kitchen and living area are bright and spacious, perfect for gathering as a group. We cooked together, shared snacks, and laughed late into the night. Each of the four bedrooms is designed with comfort in mind, featuring cozy bedding and plenty of space to unwind. From the thoughtful Love Local welcome basket waiting for us when we arrived, to the modern touches throughout the space, it’s clear that every detail has been considered to make guests feel at home. 

Exploring Local Favourites

One of the best parts about a local staycation is rediscovering familiar places with fresh eyes. Because I knew it would be a fan favourite, just a few minutes down the road, we stopped by Colasanti’s Tropical Gardens (a must-visit Essex County gem) for their famous classic donuts. Warm, soft, and perfectly nostalgic, they were the sweetest start to our weekend. For dinner, we took a short five-minute walk to Sake Sushi, a local restaurant serving up delicious rolls and Japanese dishes. There’s something extra special about bringing takeout back to a house with lake views and sharing a meal with friends.

A Hidden Gem on the North Shore

Beyond the property, Modern Lux Oasis is surrounded by some of the best experiences Essex County has to offer. You’ll find vineyards, orchards, and local wineries just a short drive away, as well as scenic nature trails and conservation areas for anyone who loves the outdoors. If you’re looking for a little adventure, head into Kingsville for a day of exploring. The town’s restaurant scene is full of incredible local flavours and cozy spots to unwind after a day by the lake. 

Whether you’re planning a girls’ weekend, a family staycation, or a mini getaway for visiting friends and family, Modern Lux Oasis is a beautiful option. It’s the perfect reminder that you don’t always need to travel far to feel like you’ve truly gotten away.
